Part of a series focused on depicting hands at rest, work, and at play. I’ve always been interested in drawing hands or photography hands. Hands are a dynamic piece of our body that connects us, through the sense of touch, to the world around us.
I’ve always wanted to be musical. I took guitar lessons for some time. I was drawn to this image because music inspires me and blues guitar specifically is often playing in the background while I paint. This hand has interesting lighting and It was quite challenging to get the shape of the hand on the guitar to read how I wanted – hands get quite contorted while playing the guitar.
This painting is 8 inches square, painted with oils on a linen panel.
