Painting and golfing are two of my favorite things to do. Even better when they come together. With this painting, I wanted to capture the vastness of a links-style course with fairways winding their way through the natural terrain. This image is from the viewpoint of a golfer standing in one fairway, looking back at golfers putting on the green of another fairway.
The bright yellow, greens, and oranges in the foreground shift to a bluer green in the distance, helping give perspective and depth to the painting. The late-day sun illuminates the green and the tops of the rolling hills and develops dramatic shadows in the valleys.
